Opportunity: Energy Certificates (RECs) certify that the holder owns one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity generated from a renewable energy resource. Earned RECs may be sold to other companies to offset their emissions. Tangible worked with REDEX (a RECs platform formerly known as T-RECs) to reinvigorate their brand.
Insights: Through hypothesis testing, Tangible develop everything from a new name and positioning to brand architecture and communications. Tangible helped REDEX define its suite of renewable energy solutions, allowing businesses to trace, trade, and track renewable energy certificates.
The suite includes:
REHash = Platform for Corporates & Brokers to trace and trade Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
REHash Lite = Platform for homeowners to sell renewable energy certificates generated from solar panels.
RESuite = Platform for businesses to monitor and manage their supply chain partners.
Result: REDEX raised a USD $10 million Series A funding round, led by Aramco Ventures (the corporate venture arm of Saudi Aramco). REDEX facilitated the first-ever trade of International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) for solar energy in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 sustainability objectives. REDEX's partners include Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, DBS Bank and TotalEnergies.
REDEX featured in Singapore’s "Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies" (The Straits Times and Statista), Ranking 18th overall No 1 spot within the Energy and Utilities sector.
Developing a new name is always highly subjective, but with a strong brand positioning, the process becomes more objective. The neologistic name, REDEX, was finally selected and taken from Renewable Digital Exchange. REDEX in mathematics means something that can be reduced according to the rules of a formal system.
Tangible then created the REDEX logo and adapted it for its different product Apps; REHash, REHash Lite, and RESuite. Tangible then developed the Visual & Verbal Core Elements and guidelines. Tangible then ideated and developed the activation plan to launch the new REDEX brand.
Tangible developed three Core Values to help shape internal culture and behaviour.
Tangible developed several brand architecture models to test with stakeholders. A monolithic approach for REDEX to cover all its future ambitions. The REC offers were aligned and named for different target audiences Apps: REHash (Trading App for Corporates & Brokers). REHash Lite (Selling App for residential generators) and RESuite (an App for Corporates to manage the renewable energy goals of their supply chain).
Within Tangible’s activation plan, recommendations were made to utilise corporate offices to promote the REDEX brand.
